Blood donors will have the opportunity to socialize with other donors and Blood Donor Program staff, learn about their blood type and participate in games featuring fun facts about blood donation. Prizes will be offered. Each blood donor will receive a special candy gift.
Somerset Medical Center’s Blood Donor Program is one of only three hospital-run programs of its kind in New Jersey. It relies on volunteer blood donors to provide most of the blood used annually by patients at the medical center.
Anyone who is at least 17 years old, weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health may be eligible to donate blood.
Somerset Medical Center’s Blood Donor Program is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and on one Saturday each month.
